To Whom it may Concern,
In winter 2017/18, the youth Kittitas County Ski and Snowboard Club began. We believe that riding is about self-expression, family, friends, and fun! So, our vision is simple: Weekly rides with a group of positive friends who want to hit the slopes, encourage one another, and push themselves in a fun, safe environment.
Skiing is expensive though, and costs kept many of our local youth from the slopes. So, in winter 2021/22, the non-profit was officially formed in an effort to support the local youth riders through sponsorships and a ski shuttle.
2022/23 Season Accomplishments
Thanks to our donors, we raised $5,223 last season! The funds were used to purchase:
- 6 seasons passes & 43 individual lift tickets
- 2 rental seasons passes
- Jerseys & Radios to be re-used each season
- 1 entry into the PacWest Banked Slalom!
In addition to hitting the slopes, we took a tour of the chair lift and an avalanche awareness course!
What the numbers won’t show you, is the apprehensive 10 year old who began encouraging the rest of the group to take “Just one more lap!”, the 6 year old crowned Queen of the Trees, the boy who fell 500 times and never quit, or the kids bringing Get Well gifts to the one who broke her arm.
The numbers can’t show the true impact this club has had for the children in our community.
2023/2024 Goals
This year we hope to double those numbers! With more funds, we can provide these benefits to more children! We’ll purchase more lift tickets, fill more seats on the shuttle, take field trips to other resorts, and more!
More than Just a Lift Ticket
Each year, this club brings our local children so much joy, as well as builds their confidence and physical well-being. KCSSC allows them to engage with other passionate, young riders in a positive, screen-free environment. Your contribution helps bring those benefits to children who never would have that experience otherwise.
